I graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor’s degree in biology, education, and language arts. I also earned a Master’s degree in language arts, reading and education. I have been fortunate enough to teach all my twenty years here in the Piedmont City School system.

Right after graduating JSU, I was hired by Piedmont City. I have been teaching here for twenty years, and could never imagine being anywhere else. Back in my early days of teaching, I taught science at the high school and also at PCMS. When a language postion opened up at the middle school, I was eager to fill it. I have taught 8th grade language since then and love 8th grade! I look forward everyday to working with young learners and enjoy the many diverse personalities of teenagers.

I have one sister and one brother. They are both in education. My sister teaches special education in Orlando, Florida. My brother teaches high school science at White Plains High School here in Alabama. My parents live very close to me and my mom is by best friend.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy doing things with my family, reading, and gardening. I also enjoy being in the outdoors with my baby dog, Buster Brown (a Yorkie). I also enjoy watching Spongebob Squarepants and Auburn football. I am an active member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Coates Bend.
