Mrs. Clayton earned her undergraduate degree in English and her master’s degree in Education Counseling from the University of Alabama. She began her professional career as a teacher in DeKalb County, Alabama. She has served as a Psychometrist in Jefferson County, Alabama, a teacher and Guidance Counselor in Lexington, Kentucky and Athens, Georgia and as a Guidance Counselor in Seminole County, Florida. She joined the Piedmont City School System in 2005 and has approximately 25 years experience as an educator. She is married and has three adult children. She is a professional shopper, likes to exercise, and is an avid fan of Alabama football. Mrs. Clayton resides in Jacksonville.
